N and D climbed to an arch on our first day and I was left behind because I only had my wrist strap and I was strangely worried about busting my camera. Then on the last day, I did end up busting part of the strap because I stepped on it as I was climbing a steep rock path. Argh. I wished for a totally different experience and that makes me rethink my big DSLR.

I loved your comment because it affirmed my evolving thoughts about photography! I've been thinking about limitations and parameters lately, both with my photography (e.g. I'm not willing to hike miles and miles with gear on my back to get that special shot - and maybe that's a mistake, but I am what I am, a la Popeye, ha), and in the rest of my life. And since the days are short and the nights are long and cold, it's a good time to contemplate all this.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
