88 out in the woods
It's been four months since I've been here. It is so very good to be back.
We had to shovel our way in but the weather was warm. The snow was piled high but woodpeckers flitted through the tree tops. The fire pit was full of ice but it soon melted. The geese greeted us from a distance. We found bunny and turkey tracks all over the property. The sun shone and the sound of dripping water added to the music of the wind in the leaves.
Ahhhh, the woods. It seems a bit easier to breathe out here.

Matt & I keep batting the idea of a cabin in the woods somewhere, you make it tempting.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny you should say that, Kat, because i was thinking of starting a series about getting a retreat out in the woods. I've learned a lot over the years that I want to share - tips to make it affordable and tips to make it sustainable. Creating this space for us has saved our sanity and in many ways, saved and enriched our marriage. Now that the little one is around we have this whole new perspective on spending time out in the woods.
DeleteYes, you and Matt should definitely look into getting a cabin (or start with a trailer)!
