Loosened from the mud, I find myself floating in a world of possibility.

So can you.

I did it.  I achieved a dream of mine and I completed something for my Lotus list (#105).  I had a photograph selected to be part of an exhibit at the Minneapolis Photo Center.

I started the evening feeling like my photo was just average.  I finished the evening feeling like it was a great photo.  It fit both aspects of the theme.  It was amazing to see it in such a large format.  And I admit, I eavesdropped on people viewing my photo and was pleasantly surprised by the great reactions to my photo.

I'm so glad I took my camera with me.

Of all the reactions that night, this little one's was the best.  He toddled right up the photo and started pointing at it.  He saw something that drew his eye.

There were hundreds of people at the opening reception, the food was delicious and the wine was flowing.  I should have made more of an effort to meet the other artists, but I was surrounded by neighbors and friends who made me feel part of a community.  Later several of us went to dinner and it's been a long while since I've laughed so much.  It was a memorable night and I am thankful for all my friends that showed up, for the opportunity to go public with my photography and for the sense of accomplishment I felt the entire evening.

  1. Congratulations on your first show! It's a gorgeous photo, and I'm so glad you're getting your talent out into the world in a physical way. I hope plenty more of this goodness comes your way.
