Loosened from the mud, I find myself floating in a world of possibility.

So can you.

before the rain

These leaves are on a bush that sits on the side of our house. The bush has grown bigger than I initially anticipated but this year I'm on top of it by getting to the grooming at a time that allowed the tips to turn to lovely shades of pink and white. The leaf that is right in the middle here seems so much like a feather to me.

There has been rain all day today in the city and the storms are centered right on top of where our trailer retreat is located. Poor D! It so sad to hear a grown man pining and whining for his woodland needs. We watched the radars all day hoping for a break when we would have hopped in the Jeep and took off for the woods. But no such break came and while the rain has tapered off here in the city, it is still going in Wisconsin.

So the woodland retreat is a bust for this weekend and I'm off to a conference next weekend so it will be a little while before we get back to where our hearts are. But that's OK because then we'll be able to give some time for the wood ticks and mosquitoes to run their lives in a way that don't intersect with our own.
