The greatest thing about having property out in the woods and nearly off the grid is that there is total rupture from daily city life. It is an almost instantaneous shift from the woes of the daily grind. Considering the tough challenges of last week, this retreat was exactly what my heart needed. Add in a few sparklers and a state that revels in their legal fireworks, and you've got all the makings of a spectacular holiday.
