one dry day for the canoe
Labor day weekend was nearly a wash out and Dave was very, very sad. Yet all we needed was one dry day to make a dream come true.
We hadn't been out on the canoe since before the Lotus Bud was born. When we cleaned it of over four years of dirt and grit, I was astonished to find that the size of the canoe fit our family perfectly. I forgot that our little canoe has a middle seat so the Bud was high enough to work her own paddle.
He's been dreaming of going out on the canoe for years. And while we didn't get a chance to go out on our favorite canoeing lake (an hour and half away from our trailer retreat), my suggestion for a part of Flambeau River north of dam was exactly the area we needed to enjoy our one dry day.
