Loosened from the mud, I find myself floating in a world of possibility.

So can you.

August Break 2016: Day two, leaf

Finding this leaf is bittersweet. The end of summer brings on autumn. And while autumn is my favorite season and incredibly beautiful in the northern parts of the midwest, the changing leaves also mean the end of summer. It's got me spinning in circles. This is indeed the perfect time for an August Break.

Funny how I always think I know more than nature. I remember last year on the river on a particularly warm day, a flock of geese flew by low over the water. I thought then that they must be lost. But sure enough the very next week the weather turned. So try as I might in saying this leaf is just heat stressed or just on a young oak tree, it likely means that summer is really coming to an end.
