Loosened from the mud, I find myself floating in a world of possibility.

So can you.

This bush always blooms the week of Independence Day. It reminds of fireworks.

It's hard for me to believe that this day is the end of June. Summer is marching away and there is still so much to be done. More swimming in the lake, more cruising in the boat, more lazy days at the park. Mix in there plans for a patio out the back door, rearranging the perennials which are overgrown and crowded, preparing fresh salads, building shelves on our front porch area. The season is busy and I'm already feeling like there is too much to get done in a few short warm months. But I couldn't ever give up living in Minnesota because I love the seasons.

  1. It does look like fireworks! I'm so glad you're enjoying the season to the fullest, even if it means it feels too short. I'm enjoying all the summer fruits - I could eat a bag of cherries a day, seriously - and hand watering some new plantings in the yard. A Taos Blizzard game (not even minor league baseball - maybe AA?) this Friday, followed by (non-plant) fireworks in town, then beer on a patio somewhere. Viva Summer!

    1. Ah, yes! The summer fruit. The hand watering? I think you hit on what I'm missing. I'm not taking those quiet moments that only happen in the warm seasons. Too much time spent trying to fit in long summer days with evening meetings. I realized last night that all my weekday evenings in the last two weeks were spent in meetings and not outside enjoying some child free time with hubby. Thanks! I now have something to "work" on that has nothing to do with work. Cocktails on the patio. Laying on a blanket in the backyard. It seems July is the time to adjust in order to do summer right!
