Loosened from the mud, I find myself floating in a world of possibility.

So can you.

Hail and Marys

We decided to come back from the 4-Acre Wood early because I heard there was a storm coming through, possible a severe storm. I didn't expect the marble and golf-ball sized hail that started to come down just after we made the bloody marys.

We ended the day with a rainbow and sunshine and a low county boil. All of which were most satisfying.

Happy May!

  1. Crazy weather! Not so bad when you're looking at it from inside with a bloody mary in you hand though. Your dinner looks delicious. Do you put potatoes in first, then corn and then add shrimp at the end? It looks wonderful.

    1. You are right, Susan! Crazy weather but fun to watch from the inside. My daughter thought winter had come again and was concerned that the hail would still be there when she woke up. So cute! The boil recipe is so easy and I tend to add peas and green beans when they are in season. Bring the water to a boil first with onion, a lemon and some seasoning (I prefer a Cajun mix over Old Bay). Then add potatoes and boil for 10 minutes or until done. Then goes in the sausage and corn for 10-15 minutes depending on the corn. Finally the shrimp and peas/beans if I have some. This is a go-to recipe if we are traveling because it is a hardy/healthy meal that can be put together pretty easily. Boil nights are my favorite for family dinner because everyone is happy. Thanks so much for the comment!
