Need coffee

For some odd reason I feel like one of my resolutions for 2015 should be more coffee.

And more Bloody Mary's!

in hell

A late breakfast at Hell's Kitchen was the perfect antidote to the winter lock-down that's chilling the region into single digits. Bloody Marys and the worst table in the house, that combination of circumstances almost always leads to an interesting experience. It was strangely intimate. Being right next the highest traffic area (the kitchen) meant that while we were in everyone's close view, they made an effort to avert their eyes. Seen and not seen. We had child-free time right at the literal gates to hell's kitchen, eating the best maple-gazed bison sausage to be found on this side of, well you know, hell.

The contrast of the colors in these photos fills me with shivers. The photo of the blue sky, the spread of icy frost up the window is considerably cooler than the red-toned warmth of the two above. It's hard to figure out which one better represents hell.

We got a snowstorm while in Wisconsin but we didn't get snowed-in which would have been the best holiday treat. You know like, so sorry can't go anywhere or do anything because snow. Yet the snow was lovely even if it was only about six inches.

The sun! We finally saw the sun after weeks and weeks of cloudy gloom. The sun has been gone for so long that I've even lost my sunglasses. Oh well, at least we have some sun.

Winter Wonderland

I realized that I don't write much about being married to a diabetic. It very much a part of our lives but never much in a way that interferes with our lives. I suppose it is big reason why we try to live    a life full of adventure. Knowledge of ones mortality certainly leads to savoring each moment. Especially the ones out in the woods.

love is infinity

I got an axe!!! And gloves to go with it and the boots, well, those are just for fun.

The little one got the Elsa dress she asked for from Santa. Five minutes after she put it on and was demonstrating her powers, snow started falling from the sky. That's some amazing power and something sorely needed here in Minnesota where for the first time in forever, we don't have a white Christmas.

So now we are headed to our woodland retreat because the cold never bothered me anyway....

(You've got to forgive my corn, it's been quite the Frozen Christmas!)

Do you want build a snowman?
